Name those Patriots!! This must be from Smackdown or some other wrestling show a while back, but clearly there are a bunch of old school Pats all sitting in the front row. Anyone care to name them all?

I think I got Chatham, Phifer (?), Vrabel, Izzo, Marc Edwards?

Patriots History Tuesday: Mike Vrabel Highlights

Vrabel is a close second to Bruschi in players I most miss seeing on the Patriots defense. His attitude, intelligence, and even trash talking is legendary. He wasn’t necessarily the emotional leader that Bruschi was, but he gave the Patriots dynasty defense alot of it’s swagger.

Ike Reese told of a harrowing experience trying to recover a Brian Westbrook fumble during a punt return against the Patriots.

“Mike Vrabel grabbed my sac,” Reese said. “We’re all scrambling for the ball and Mike Vrabel had my nuts so hard I was screaming. I didn’t even have the ball. He had my shit in his hands and he’s squeezing. We don’t wear cups. So I’m dying. Everything is fair game. The pile clears and I see him-now Mike, he’s an Ohio guy, and I played against him at Ohio State when i was at Michigan State-and he’s smiling and shit at me. I turned to him and said, “You f**kin’ asshole.”

Over the last 10 years the Patriots have only had two players record double digit sack totals; 2009 Tully Banta-Cain (10), 2007 Mike Vrabel (12.5). In fact, over that span, the average for sack leaders for the Pats is about 8.5. Also interesting to point out that over that same time period, the Patriots have averaged about 36.5 sacks a year as a team, and in four seasons they went over 40 as a team – 2007, 2004, 2003, and 2001 – all Super Bowl teams.

Patriots Bolster Front Seven with Adrian Clayborn

After grabbing Danny Shelton and Jason McCourty from the Browns, the Patriots added another solid and needed piece to their defense in Adrian Clayborn, a defensive end who should solidify an edge of their defense. As I wrote on Friday, the team needed another defensive end, a spot they struggled with last season after losing […]
