Sometimes an Inconsistent GM, Bill Belichick is All Good in 2014 – Patriots – Boston.com

Seems like each and every year we get a collection of “this just might be Belichick’s best season” stories, but the narrative always shifts a bit. Last year it was the rag tag crew that Belichick used to replace a collection of devastating injuries on the defensive side of the ball. This year, it’s his in-season acquisitions.

Yeah we can cherry-pick missed draft picks in 2006 or the Rutgers reaches, but year in and year out Belichick is the best at all of it.

Definitely a lot of energy in the stadium, and there was a sea of Patriots fans behind our bench. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. They were all kind of in the same spot. It was almost like a college game – a game at a neutral site, where one side of the field is one team and the other side of the field is the other team. It wasn’t quite like that, but we had all those fans right behind us. They were loud, vocal. It was an electric night. The crowd had a lot of energy and the support from the fans we had in game, they were behind us. It was awesome.
