Dan Connolly exemplified everything our program requires of players. He was tough and dependable, smart and team oriented and his work ethic ensured he improved on an annual basis to reach his potential. From where his career began as a developmental player to where it finished as a team leader and champion, Dan Connolly was a player I was proud to coach.

Belichick’s no-tolerance policy with players being on time is well documented; most recently with Revis and running back Jonas Gray being sent home from the team facility during the 2014 regular season for arriving late.

Over his 16 years as coach, it’s one of the primary messages he stresses with players, noting that unpredictable weather is part of living in New England and to always plan accordingly with a larger margin for error.

However, this is believed to be the first time Belichick has sidelined a player for multiple weeks in a voluntary setting.

New England Patriots Have Never Invested in Cornerbacks

Digging deep on the history of the contracts the Patriots have given to cornerbacks here. Paints a clear picture of how the Patriots value cornerbacks in their system, relying mostly on guys on rookie deals, vets on one-year minimums and the occasional one-year high-priced elite. But long-term, big money deals? Never.

The preparation. Definitely one of the smartest, not just coaches but one of the smartest people I’ve ever been around, putting you in a position to succeed, knowing and understanding all the players’ strengths and weaknesses and not leaving any detail unturned,” McGinest said. “There’s been more times than not where he’s sat in the meeting room and told us what exactly was going to happen and that Monday morning guys are turning around looking at each other because some of the things he said would happen definitely happened and took place.

I learned how to work,” Anderson said, according to Skurski. “We worked hard every day. I felt like that helped my career and took my game to another level, just the preparation. As the years go on you mature as a player. I felt going there, the expectations and standards are so high, I felt […]
