Always enjoy when Belichick spends a chunk of his breakdown talking about the importance of the exact same thing I focused on in my All-22 study this week – third down defense.
I was talking to former Patriots receiver Troy Brown last year, and he said that Belichick would come in on Mondays, rip up the game plan from the previous day and say that game didn’t even exist anymore. The next game plan would start from scratch. Many coaches will talk about running “their system.” Belichick and his staff don’t do that — they do whatever is necessary to beat that week’s opponent.
