I was talking to former Patriots receiver Troy Brown last year, and he said that Belichick would come in on Mondays, rip up the game plan from the previous day and say that game didn’t even exist anymore. The next game plan would start from scratch. Many coaches will talk about running “their system.” Belichick and his staff don’t do that — they do whatever is necessary to beat that week’s opponent.

Since the Patriots hired Bill Belichick in January 2000, the other three AFC East teams have combined to change head coaches a remarkable 21 times – that’s almost 1.5 new coaches per season. In fact, just this calendar year alone, the AFC East teams have all switched head coaches.
