Patriots win AFC East, move into AFC’s second seed for now

December 3, 2012 by Mike Dussault

Some might call that an ugly win, but it was nice to finally see the defense come through when the offense was sputtering.

It seemed for a while like injuries might’ve finally caught up with the Pats offense before their offensive line and ground game kicked it into gear to seal the game in the fourth quarter.

It was a sloppy game from the offense and Brady was not locked in. But the defense held the lead into the fourth quarter and the offense closed it out.

That’s complimentary football.

The Patriots are once again starting to gel and starting to really play all around solid football.

With the Ravens loss the Pats move into the second overall in the AFC due to three-way tie break rules in the NFL. Next up?

The top seed Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. What a game that should be.

We’ll have a much better sense of the AFC in two weeks after the Texans and Patriots, and Ravens and Broncos all play. It’s a mini AFC playoff and there’s two byes at stake.

Pats Posits: Grind It Out Like We Always Do

The Patriots systematically strangled the Bills on Sunday, once again leaning on Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead on the ground to take the heat off of Tom Brady. It wasn’t a great 60 minutes, the penalties and sloppiness marred any positive vibes we might’ve had coming off a divisional win. Now we get to weigh […]
