If the Patriots go to more of a 3-4 system, who plays the 5-techniques? And where would it leave Jerod Mayo, who was once prone to getting pushed around inside in the 3-4?

I don’t think they’ll go back to the 3-4, at least in a traditional sense when it was a straight up nose tackle and two 5-techniques. They just don’t have the two-gapping defensive ends.
