The Patriots offensive line and backs need to do a better job of locating/identifying off-the-ball rushers in pressure packages. The Detroit preseason game featured a slot corner pressure that the protection never seemed to figure out. That game tape likely invited Buffalo defensive coordinator Mike Pettine’s own version last week that hurt them some, as well. Pettine and Rex Ryan were partners for years, so it’s likely those elements will reappear again this week, as is often the case until you’ve solved the “Who’s coming?” Rubik’s Cube. When the Patriots do, they’ll be back as one of the best offensive lines in the game.

Stop by The Prop Shop and pick up one of these one-of-a-kind tees for just $15. It will guarantee the Pats win tonight. I think.

Dobson? Think he’ll be playing much tonight? I really hope he pans out just so Brady can have a big WR on the outside. Hopefully somewhat like Hakeem Nicks.
He seemed to want to play, we’ll see if he’s really healthy enough to and whether they let him.
If he does play I’d expect to see him/Thompkins/Boyce moving around a lot to compliment Edelman (who should play every snap). The Pats must play to the advantage of not letting the Jets key in on anyone. In the past it was easy, Revis is on Moss, Cromartie is on Welker, etc.
Now they can’t necessarily do that, because they don’t know who will be where. So if the Pats can use that it could help them spring Edelman.
The major problem will be if the Pats get down and need to come back. Then the game falls directly into the Jets’ hands. I expect it will be close all the way until the end.
