The status of rookie defensive lineman Armond Armstead will continue to come into focus in the wake of Wilfork’s injury. Armstead is on the non-football illness list because of an infection that was discovered during the offseason, and he is eligible to return to practice as early as Week 7. It’s still unclear if Armstead will be ready that early, but there is optimism regarding his progress, and the belief exists that he will be able to contribute in 2013.

ReFo: Patriots @ Falcons, Week 4 | ProFootballFocus.com

This was a ridiculous week for CB performances, but you may not see a finer one than that from Aqib Talib in quite some time. Talib was given the task most of the time of shutting down Julio Jones but he also saw a fair bit of Roddy White, an easier call until White gets fully healthy. Regardless of who he was covering, Talib was in close attendance and making a nuisance of himself, forcing passes out, picking them off, or forcing drops with his close coverage. In total he was thrown at seven times, and though he had safety help on occasions he didn’t allow a single catch in those targets. As if that wasn’t enough he saved one of his biggest plays for the game’s most important. On fourth down in his own end zone he batted away a pass intended for Roddy White that would have won the game for the Falcons despite White having good leverage on the route.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRoDsO7sJ2Y Wes Welker vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers ‘10 I’m just about certain that Welker will lead the NFL in catches again in 2011, and he’ll certainly won’t be dropping passes like he did last season. The fact is that Welker probably wouldn’t have even played last season if it was just five years ago. Pretty […]
