If the patriots didn’t get the number one seed, where do you think belichick would prefer to play: Denver or Kansas City in afc championship if they made it
Well you have to respect both locations and their respective atmospheres, but in terms of the teams themselves I think you have to choose Kansas City. We’ll see how it goes between them this weekend but outside of the Broncos there’s no AFC team that legitimately scares me. Going to Indy might be a pretty good challenge as well, but if the Pats lock up the second seed I think it will be a tall order for the Bengals/Colts/Chiefs/Jets to beat them in Foxboro.
That said, there’s also a part of me that would love to see one last AFC Championship between Brady and Peyton. Really the AFCCG is my favorite game of the year. The Super Bowl is always a little too much of a exhibition feel to it.

More Vereen anticipation, the hot-button topic of the post-bye week.
At least when it comes to short-term expectations, pumping the brakes might be the best course of action when it comes to the expectation level regarding Vereen. He’s a dynamic offensive option – the most versatile presence the Patriots have – but needs to have a week or two before he returns to full speed. It takes time to build up the cardio needed to play 60 minutes worth of football: as Bill Belichick has said on a number of occasions, you can’t get in football shape by running around the track.
