AFC Championship Preview: A Whole New Ballgame «

Good long read here, and some really good points about fatigue in the Denver air. Pats don’t have a lot of depth on defense, and long Manning drives could exploit that.

But I think they left out Sealver Siliga in tearing up the Pats’ run defense. He’s made a significant difference.

“(He makes) crazy, athletic plays in practice, man, where you knew it was just a matter of time before he got comfortable in the game, comfortable enough for him to start making plays like that,” cornerback Aqib Talib said of the rookie linebacker.

Patriots rookie LB Jamie Collins, who has quietly been a star in practices, is on the brink of breaking out | masslive.com

Why do you love the patriots?

January 16, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Well that’s a question and there’s definitely a book I could give in response, but let’s just make it short and simple.

I grew up a few towns over from Foxboro and spent plenty of time in the old stadium watching the Patriots lose. I was actually a hockey player but football was always my favorite sport to watch.

I was always fascinated with the Xs and Os of the game and trying to understand the chess match that goes on. The internet really opened up a lot of information to me in the mid-2000s and my online football writing was born out of that.

So this blog is really a combination of trying to learn more about football and taking readers along with me, while also celebrating being a fan. Not just focusing on the day-to-day of the team like most mainstream sites do, but all the entertainment that goes with it… the videos, the memes, the GIFs, and all the other fun stuff that makes being a fan in the age of the internet so much fun.

The online community of Pats fans around the world that I’ve interacted with, sent t-shirts too, etc. are what make keep me doing it.

AFC Championship Game is a case study of how NFL defenses are evolving | The MMQB with Peter King

Wow, I am both relieved and proud to have written a complimentary article to Andy Benoit, a football writer I have long respected, that makes a lot of the same points about the Pats and man coverage that I made in my piece. It’s times like this I almost feel like I know what I’m talking about when it comes to x’s and o’s.

Willie McGinest will be the Pats’ honorary captain on Sunday. How perfect, Willie made his fair share of big plays against Peyton, none bigger than his fourth-down goalline stop on Edgerrin James in 2003.

THROWBACK THURSDAY (2007) – A Look Back: New England Patriots vs. San Diego Chargers 2006 AFC Playoffs

As we started last week we’re linking to an old post at the old blog on Thursdays and today’s selection is what I wrote in 2007 about my experience getting tickets and going to the 2006 AFCDG vs. San Diego.

This was unquestionably the best fan experience of my life and this is my recounting of how it all went down. Enjoy!
