Let the offseason fun for the Patriots begin

We’ve added another outlet at Sportsblog.com where we’ll be sharing daily Pats blogs about the news of the day (or past couple days). Today’s post touches on the Revis and Amendola rumors.

Do you think with the way that qbs like brady and manning who are up in age practice and keep their bodies in shape during the offseason allows them to play longer than qbs decades ago

March 3, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Absolutely. I can’t speak as much to Manning’s offseason regime but Brady’s focus on what he eats and his training in the offseason is second-to-none. It’s night and day compared to the old days, when guys barely worked out in the offseason, much less maintaining a vigorous training and fitness regime.

I always have wanted to ask Brady about how he balances his home life and training in the offseason. Obviously, he does plenty of traveling and I can only imagine how hard it can be to maintain his training as a Dad with three kids, houses all over the place, etc.

It was nice to see him win a Patriots offseason award last year. It had been multiple seasons since he last won one and it shows how seriously he took the re-build at wide receiver.

Who would you prefer and why between revis and talib

March 3, 2014 by Mike Dussault

I really don’t think there’s any legitimate chance Revis comes to New England but I would definitely prefer him to Talib. No offense to Aqib, but Revis could very well be the best cornerback in the NFL this season being a full two years removed from his ACL injury.

Talib’s a little more volatile and has had continued issues with his hips in each of his two seasons with the Pats. And obviously he’s started but not finished the last two AFC Championships.

I really loved watching Revis with the Jets when I got to see him up close twice a year. He makes it look so easily and can play any technique needed. He’s strong, smart and a shutdown corner in every sense.

Talib is really good but Revis is great. That said, I think the Pats will bring back Talib and should continue to take strides with their defense. But the thought of Revis playing for BB is certainly intriguing.

Dobson has maintained regular contact with Brady this offseason as a way to increase their chemistry, even just while discussing the game over the phone. And Dobson said he’ll absolutely join Brady this offseason in Los Angeles, where the quarterback likes to run strenuous practices with his pass catchers. So, even though Dobson has been limited physically through the early portion of the offseason calendar, he’s got a full rundown of plans to ensure more consistency in 2014.

Patriots hope Aaron Dobson injury woes alleviate with rest | Boston Herald

Interesting on Dobson’s foot, looks like it was a little worse than anyone realized. Or at least it lingered far longer than expected. The good news is his plan to join Brady in LA this offseason for workouts. That is priceless.
