You won’t see White leave many yards on the table. At 5’9″ and 204 pounds, White isn’t much of a pile-pusher. He doesn’t have a lot of natural leverage with short arms and small hands, so he may struggle a bit in pass protection. White has also seen a bit of time returning kickoffs, so he may be able to contribute there as well.

STRENGTHS: Compactly built with some deceiving body strength – good north-south momentum…low pad level and runs close to the ground with a fluid body type…nice cutback and burst to make defenders miss with quick feet to sidestep defenders and flip on the jets…stiff ankles but has some body wiggle to avoid tackles…good vision and patience at the LOS to read blocks, spurt through holes and get to the second level…knack for the big play with several productive runs on his resume…soft hands out of the backfield and very reliable as a pass-catcher.
High effort blocker and works hard to get in position, using proper technique…NFL bloodlines – relative of wide receivers Santana and Sinorice Moss…selfless player with high football character – waited his turn to be the starter in Madison…very productive career, finishing fourth in school history in rushing yards (4,015), third in rushing scores (45), first in yards per carry average (6.2) and first in receiving yards for a RB (670).

Do you think the Pats will actually trade Mallett in a year or two now that we’ve got Garoppollo?
Mallett’s in his last year, but I think they will hang on to him. There’s no way Garoppolo is ready to be the #2 right out of the gate. Like Brady before him, he’ll spend this year as the #3, then compete for the backup position with a free agent next season.
Long-term I’d be more interested in keeping Garoppolo regardless. I just haven’t seen enough progress out of Mallett. Mallett has a top-notch arm, but in the preseason games I have not seen his touch improve much, if at all.
Bryan Stork – 2014 NFL Draft profile (by Erick Ward)

Stork, who at 6-foot-3 7/8 and 315 pounds, brings a bigger body type to the position (Wendell is 6-2, 300). The Patriots have been vulnerable at times to inside pressure (think AFC championship game vs. Broncos), especially against bigger nose tackles, and Stork could ultimately be part of the solution.

Rodgers was drafted when Favre had years left and the Packers had other needs. Garappolo doesn’t have an extremely big arm but he has nice touch. I’d rather we took a QB with his sort of intangibles and then worked on him throwing the ball with more velocity and fitting it into tight windows. It’s not like we’re starting from scratch. He is very good. I don’t think Brady would have been bothered in the slightest by the pick. It was a smart pick. BB has seen something and thinks he will work.
Was up late last night watching every bit of film on Garoppolo I could find and I think his quick release is special. Does he need time to develop? Sure. But like Mallett, he has a unique skill that I think made him especially intriguing to Belichick.
His arm reminds me somewhat of Russell Wilson. He doesn’t have Wilson’s escapability, but he has at least two inches on the Seahawk quarterback. Garoppolo just puts great zip on his passes and goes through his progressions quickly and confidently. He doesn’t seem to get rattled. He also has enough quickness and athleticism to make plays with his feet when things break down.
He’s a rootable player and I look forward to seeing how he progresses over the next couple of seasons. With his arm and quick decisions he would fit in well with how the Pats run their offense. He can throw the quick screens but also has enough arm strength to fling it down the field.
