Are you impressed by the way the fans have responded since the Kansas its game? People always talk about how spoiled pats fans were but ever since then they have been nonstop supportive and just as fired up as the Pats. I know I’m impressed.

I know no one at Gillette sat down once during the Bengals or Broncos games, so yes, it’s been nice to see the fans rally around the team. Really, it was all pretty silly even after the Kansas City blowout. I never lost faith or believed any of the over-reactionary takes.

How many decades do we have to go before people start to see the trend – the Patriots are usually just okay early in the season. They experiment. They lose to bad teams. But slowly but surely they always come around as we cross into November and December.

But it is nice to see the fan base get defensive over their team and circle the wagons around Brady. Hopefully we can all continue to bring that kind of energy now that everyone is back on the Pats’ bandwagon.

Just as things weren’t as bad as many would’ve had you believe in September, this Pats team isn’t going to play near-perfect football every game for the rest of the season. There will be more adversity to overcome, but I remained assured they have the composition to overcome just about anything.

Under Manning, the Denver offense is based on precise timing and effective route-running. Defensively, there is one prescription: impeding the Broncos’ receivers at the line of scrimmage. Not every team is equipped to do it, but when it’s done right, Manning becomes mortal. Only one other time this season have the Broncos been held to so few points: their 26-20 overtime defeat in Week 3 to Seattle.

This isn’t an accident. The Patriots spent the off-season trying to emulate the Seahawks, going so far as to sign 6-foot-4 cornerback Brandon Browner, who was part of Seattle’s dominating defense last season until a substance-abuse suspension kept him out of the playoffs. Not surprisingly, he was the key to stopping Manning on Sunday. According to Pro Football Focus, a statistical tracking service, Manning had a 49.4 quarterback rating when throwing toward Browner.

Do you prefer a big body DT who gives a you an adequate pass rush but takes up blockers or a smaller DT who gives a pass rush that gives quarterbacks problems all day

Given the style of defense the Pats play there is room for both. With Wilfork they really had one nose tackle and defensive tackle. One guy who might two-gap and one guy who might one-gap.  I think the goal at this point is to be able to have two guys who can do both fairly […]
