Patriots WR Julian Edelman expected to miss time following knee surgery

October 29, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

If the Patriots bounce-back this Sunday with a win against Buffalo, they’ll have to do it without their go to receiver Julian Edelman.

Julian Edelman is absent from practice and is expected to miss some game action, according to a source. He's been dealing with a knee injury.

— Jeff Howe (@jeffphowe) October 29, 2020

Now, it’s been no secret Jules has been dealing with something this season, and not his normal fighting through injuries thing either, he’s been really hurt. News that he was absent from practice surfaced earlier before Jeff Howe reported that he’s expected to miss game action due the knee injury which has been ailing him all season.

Patriots Preview: Week 8 vs Buffalo

October 28, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

We’re at the halfway point of this weird and eventful NFL season, and this game is the biggest one yet. On Sunday the 2-4 New England Patriots travel to Bills Stadium to take on the 5-2 Buffalo Bills.

Date: Sunday, November 1, 2020
Game Time: 1:00 PM EST
Venue: Bills Stadium, Orchard Park, NY
Network: CBS (Ian Eagle & Dan Fouts)
All-time record: Patriots lead series, 76-43-1 (including playoffs)

When They Last Met…

Broncos 17-24 Patriots
December 21, 2019

The first drive of the game saw the Patriots move nicely into Bills territory before Rex Burkhead fumbled after receiving a screen pass from Tom Brady.

Buffalo then counter-attacked before stalling midway into the Patriots side of the field, Josh Allen overthrew Dawson Knox in the end zone and they had to settle for a field goal to take the games first lead. Brady then led the team downfield with completions to Rex Burkhead, N’Keal Harry, Ben Watson, and then finding Matt LaCosse for an eight-yard touchdown score.

Patriots vs 49ers – Player Ups & Downs

October 26, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

STEVEN SENNE AP

Still reeling from yesterday’s loss, and it still hurts now as much as it did then. Don’t expect much positive stuff this week, I can’t sugarcoat it. Here are the ups and downs from Week 7.

Ups ⬆️

Jakobi Meyers

Yes, my only up from yesterday is the performance by Meyers. Now, it wasn’t anything special that will go down in Patriots folklore, but, in a game where the Patriots offense couldn’t do anything, Meyers made some nice catches and was one of the few to actually get open for both quarterbacks.

The Patriots future is cloudy, the season, in jeopardy

October 25, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

I want to say I’m surprised by the result today, but in all honesty, I’m not. We knew things were going to be different, there was a mix of excitement and trepidation when training camp started, but now, the wheels of this team are beginning to show signs of decay.

And this isn’t just about Tom Brady. Yep, it hurts a bunch when Bill suffers his worst home loss since he took over as head coach in 2000, and Brady slings 350+ for 4 touchdowns. But this is about the Patriots in 2020, and it’s important to look forward, not back.

The offense is currently non-existent, Cam has had two terrible games since he returned from the COVID list, I barely knew Edelman was in the game, and the team can’t stop turning the ball over. The defense has shown flashes of brilliance in some weeks, and signs of concern in others.

How worried do you think we should be about Arizona coming to foxborough sunday? I know everyone is already writing it off as a win (honestly, I am too) but I still think there should be cause for concern. Fitzgerald has been an elite receiver no matter who is throwing to him, and I’m still not sure about our secondary.

Hmm, honest answer or voice of BB answer… let’s go honest. It’s going to take a very special game from the Cardinals to beat the Patriots. Defensively there’s no question that this is a talented group at all three levels. Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett are no joke. But there are holes to attack, especially […]
