Super Bowl 49: The story of how Darrelle Revis became a Patriot – CBSSports.com
Good in-depth read on the whole Revis sitch. Win or lose on Sunday, the attention will quickly turn to Revis’ future with the Patriots.
I do believe it is well to have three or four trick plays in the repertoire, besides the ones just mentioned, as they give the team a lot of confidence. They have something in reserve to call upon in case things get bad in the second half. It is much like a man carrying a revolver feeling much safer about meeting a hold-up man. However, he may be held up so quickly sometime that he will not have a chance to use his gun. And the same thing holds good for the team with the trick plays.

The big game plan article is coming tomorrow, but I think there’s a place for every aspect of the Patriots’ offense in this one. The key for me is balance. What I don’t want is to get into a game where we have to throw the ball 50 times. So yes, power running then spread them out, power personnel with play action, keep the off balance and DICTATE. Don’t let them pin their ears back and get after Brady.
And yes, power sweeps, screens to LaFell, you want to at least see how willing Sherman is to tackle. Earl will get tested with Gronk in the seam and hopefully be forced to tackle him one-on-one.
Throw the whole playbook at them and find what’s working best, then hammer that.
A little disrespect never hurts. And yes, Stevie has not seen Talib in the Pats’ secondary yet. He’ll see a lot of him on Sunday.
