People think he’s losing his edge,” Harrison said. “But Tom Brady’s not losing his edge. Tom Brady would never lose his edge because he was a sixth-round draft choice out of Michigan. That’s his mentality each and every year. Tom’s at a point now where he’s one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. And one thing you never have to worry about Tom being is complacent. It’s not like he’s going to sit back and eat popcorn and cookies the entire offseason and come back 60 pounds overweight. That’s going to fuel him to stay focused.

All aboard the Shawn Crable fan train. Crable’s healthy, and he’s our pick for the Patriots 2010 surprise player of the year. Who’s yours?

“I happened to see him a week and a half ago, and he looks great. We think everything should be fine there.”
Kraft joked that Welker is “the true Patriot missile.”

I loved his energy when he got drafted and everybody was standing around with their hats on. That made me feel good about him coming to the New England Patriots, because he was ready to come.

Pats Re-Sign Derrick Burgess
I like this signing. If nothing else it gives the Pats a solid veteran presence to rush the QB. Burgess did come on at the end of last year somewhat, but I wasn’t as high on him as a lot of people were. Many gave him a free pass for “learning the system”. Well he’s been rushing the QB with his hand on the ground for his entire career and that’s mostly what he did with the Pats last year. It’s not complicated, beat the tackle in front of you to the QB.
So who knows, maybe he’ll be the Burgess of the final four games for all of 2010. But at the very least we know he’s a decent option. And yes, “decent option” is what we’ve descended to with pass rushers.
