Welker Could Be Ready Week One

Welker Could Be Ready Week One

Breer got himself kicked out of a practice for his early tweet that Welker was back, but he’s clearly been all over this story.  Some really interesting new info:

Tom Brady and Welker’s respective knee surgeries were quite different. While it had been reported widely that Brady’s MCL healed on its own, I was told that was not the case. His MCL was torn in an area where it couldn’t heal naturally to the bone, and needed to be surgically repaired.

The Pats are going to have a hard decision to make at the start of training camp. With three divisional opponents in their first four games having Welker back at the start would be greatly beneficial. Perhaps the early bye will be a blessing as he’ll have a chance to rest in case he’s not quite there yet.

I found this piggy bank for sale today, I think it’s safe to say it would need to be a little bigger or quarters only to actaully hold enough change for a game ticket. It did remind me how I’m still undecided on what game to attend this year, I always feel like the home opener is a fun on to hit. But right now the favorites are at San Diego or at home vs. the Jets.

This comes to us via Patriots.hu, a Hungarian Patriots fan website. I’m not sure what it says exactly but if I had to guess it would be “Shawn Crable is going to dominate the NFL this year if he doesn’t get cut”, or something like that.

Check out the Hungarian site, not that you’ll understand any of it, but it shows that Pats fans exist all over the world in all different languages.

Brandon Tate Should Be On Your Radar

Brandon Tate Should Be On Your Radar

I think Tate’s going to be the starting kick off returner for the Pats in 2010 right off the bat. He doesn’t have much competition (unless you count the one Patriots I despise: Matthew Slater), was crazy good at it in college, and is finally healthy.

Kiper Thinks Cunningham’s a Sleeper

Kiper Thinks Cunningham’s a Sleeper

Apparently Mel didn’t quite do enough homework on Jermaine Cunningham and after going back and look at more tape now finds him “relentless”. Expectations are generally low in year one for Jermaine, if he’s anything more than a situational pass rusher most would be pleasantly surprised.

Today in horrible (and by horrible I mean awesome) Patriots Schwag Hunt we bring you this Patriots toaster. I could describe it for you but it’s probably better to let the ad do the talking:

Does your breakfast lack team spirit?!? Spice up the most important meal of the day with this NFL® ProToast™ toaster from Pangea®. The retro-style appliance leaves the mark of the squad’s emblem on every piece of bread. It also features adjustable settings and can accommodate 2 slices of bread.

Because you’re not a true fan unless your teams logo is burned into your toast. And what’s with the implication that your breakfast can’t lack team spirit? Personally I make an omelet shaped like the Flying Elvis everyday, so F off NFL ProToast!

(no title)

I think handling the run is a strength of his,” Belichick said when asked if Carter was more than just a pass-rusher. “He’s a pretty talented player. He was the seventh pick in the [2001] draft; I don’t think you stumble into that spot. He has good size (6-4, 255), he’s long, he’s got some […]
