Could it really be true?! Crazy Legs Crable is coming this weekend to a field turf near you! It’s been a long uphill climb for the Crazy Legs Bandwagon but it looks like this top of the hill is in sight. Let’s see that speed!

From Shalise Manza Young via Twitter: Hearing from multiple sources that LB Shawn Crable will be activated off the #Patriots practice squad to fill the 53rd roster spot

New England Patriots Game Plan: Buffalo Bills

September 24, 2010 by Mike Dussault

We’ve all had it pounded into our heads this week that theBuffalo Bills "are just what the Patriots need right now", with constant reminders that the Pats have beaten them thirteen times in a row. No one is giving the Bills a chance, and that’s a little scary.

On paper the Bills look like one of the worst teams in the NFL and will be starting a new quarterback (Ryan Fitzpatrick). All signs do seem to point to a Patriots blow out, but for some reason I can shake this nervous feeling about the game.

Maybe it’s because the Patriots laid a collective team turd against the Jets that brought back memories of second halves death plunges in 2009. And let’s not forget the Bills did beat both the Dolphins and Jets last year. Really, the Patriots dominance over the Bills has been a big reason why they’ve also dominated the AFC East. That cannot be taken for granted.

The truth is that if somehow the Patriots lose this game it would be devastating, especially with Miami on deck. The game plan for how to avoid that after the jump…

Patriots Game Graph: Week 2

This looks frighteningly like the game graphs of much of 2009. Check out this article from the summer to see what I mean by the “death plunge”.

Could Kyle Arrington Start at RCB?

September 24, 2010 by Mike Dussault

Could Kyle Arrington Start at RCB?

Mike Reiss points out that Arrington got some first team reps this week over Darius Butler. I’ve always found Arrington to be an intriguing player. He was an unstoppable Special Teams demon after being promoted from the practice squad in 2009, a move that was forced somewhat by the Browns trying to poach Arrington to their active roster.

Arrington showed up well in the preseason with some devastating hits. If nothing else it would be good to see him show what he’s got at cornerback against a team like the Bills. What would also be interesting is seeing how Wilhite vs. Butler plays out for the nickel corner position. And that Wilhite is not even in consideration on the outside anymore, a spot where he started a couple games in 2008.

Also note in the pic of Moss in the post below it’s Arrington covering him.

Three Biggest Patriots Surprises

September 24, 2010 by Mike Dussault

As we all lick our chops and await the release of anger and aggression upon the hapless Buffalo Bills, I had to pick the three biggest surprises 2 games into the Patriots season.

1. Meriweather Reduced Playing Time.

2. Aaron Hernandez/Rob Gronkowski Appear to live up to hype.

3. Ron Brace, starter at defensive end.

Anyone else?

“He practices hard, he communicates with the quarterback. He challenges the receivers, the guys in his group every day. He knows that he’s the standard and he goes out there on the practice field and illustrates that,” Holt said. “It was really good to go in and have an opportunity to work with Randy for the limited time that I did. I really enjoyed it.

“I was able to learn something from him during my short stint there, and it was such a pleasure to see his focus and his intensity that he exudes every day on the football field. It was incredible.”

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: 2014 Pressure Plays: Defenses

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: 2014 Pressure Plays: Defenses Very interesting rankings here, with the Patriots having a huge difference in their defense between when they got pressure and when they didn’t. The Pats got pressure on the quarterback just 22.5% of their snaps, ranking them 25th in the league. However, when they did get pressure in those […]
