The quality of the footage isn’t that great but the first two minutes of this video gave me chills. Seeing the highlight of the first three quarters of the 2010 season made me realize we are yet again seeing something special. So turn your speakers up and squint a little bit and you’ll be more than ready for Sunday to get here.

Don’t ask what happens for the last four minutes of the video, let’s just say our boy isn’t exactly bringing the energy. But he’s clearly a Pats fan so I ain’t gonna give him too much crap. Especially since the start of this video rocks.

Frenz: Troy Brown Called It

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

FOPPer (aka Friend of PatsPropaganda) Erik Frenz had the chance to interview Troy Brown earlier this week and I was blown away by this quote that looks like it is coming to fruition.

Brown was also quick to point out that the Jets are built on their talk, saying, “The way the Jets have gone about it and a lot of the talking that they’ve been doing and their thing, I think when you have a letdown like that after so much hype and after so much talking…it’s hard to bounce back from it in a week.”

Since we’re still hearing the Jets yapping about the Patriots it’s pretty clear that this team could be headed for a meltdown against the Dolphins.

Before the season began everyone was curious to see what would happen when this overconfident Jets bunch faced some adversity. Well adversity beat the living daylights out of them Monday night. We’ll find out just how much heart this Jets team has on Sunday.

Wahhhh the Patriots ran up the score! You’re not allowed to score too many points! That’s mean. But if you score one touchdown you can totally taunt the shit out of the opponent. That’s totally cool. But scoring unnecessary touchdowns? Unacceptable!

Having worked side by side with Belichick for five years, I honestly knew one day he was going to eventually win a Super Bowl, in part because he was super smart and had a willingness to adapt. He was always divergent in his thought process. He was, and still is, the best listener I have ever been around.

With Belichick, there was never an ego in the room. He only focused on what was urgent and important each day. He had core principles and beliefs he adhered to, never wavering off those beliefs.

Rick Gosselin: 2010 Re-Draft Has Three Patriots Rookies in First Round

Rick Gosselin: 2010 Re-Draft Has Three Patriots Rookies in First Round

Gosselin is one of the best draft writers around, and in this re-draft he has McCourty going 4th overall, Hernando going 19th and Gronk going 30th. That’s a low first rounder, a second rounder, and a fourth rounder all going in the first 30 picks. Impressive, most impressive.

Barely Related to Patriots News: Alphonso Smith to IR

December 8, 2010 by Mike Dussault

Twitter has been abuzz with word that Lions CB Alphonso Smith, he of the most embarrassing Thanksgiving performance outside of my “Zin-faced” uncle, was put on IR today. In looking back through my old blog archives I found this blurb that I wrote about Alphonso just before the scouting combine in 2009

Alphonso Smith – Cornerback (Wake Forest) : Smith has the quintessential physical make-up of a Patriots corner. You need to look no further than Ellis Hobbs, Terrence Wheatley or Jonathan Wilhite to see what kind of cornerback the Patriots like for their system. Smith is a ballhawk, he was all over the field at Senior Bowl practice and my personal favorite draft guru Mike Mayock called him one of the most instinctual corners he’s ever seen in college.  His performance at the combine will likely determine if the Patriots have a shot at him.

Great job, Mike. Of course, at least I didn’t trade a First Round pick for him like Josh McDaniels did.

Here’s a little video I found that will tell you how Detroit fans feel about Alphonso..

The rookies all have excellent potential so far, and they’re all necessary so I’m excited for all of them. My related concern, however, is what happens if all of them hit that game 12 “rookie wall” and tail off for the rest of the season. All three recievers, Collins, and probably Sudfeld will be quite necessary for the long haul. If most or all of them tail off…uh oh. Otherwise, this season could be a thing of beauty.

It’s a fair point, but I’m more concerned about the inconsistency early in the season than hitting the proverbial rookie wall. Dont’a Hightower was playing his best football at the end of last season, I think really it has more to do with staying healthy than anything else. We’ll see what kind of resiliency this […]
