It’s hard to win 14 games in this business. I know people are disappointed in New England about the fact they’ve had disappointing losses in the playoffs the last two years. But I can say this because I’m not in New England, but if people in New England are complaining, they’re spoiled. They’re doing something right there, because they win a lot of football games. Bill has a lot to do with it.

In honor of all the snow that has been dumped on New England lately, let’s have a Patriots History Wednesday with overtime of the game that started the dynasty. The Patriots vs. Raiders Snow Bowl. There’s no question that there has never been a more clutch performance by a kicker than Adam Vinatieri in this game.

Wild card who could make an impact for 2011 Patriots

February 2, 2011 by Mike Dussault

If the Patriots draft a defensive lineman in April’s draft it will add yet another young body to a growing group. While we’re all familiar with names like Ty Warren, Brandon Deaderick, and Kyle Love, second year player Kade Weston isn’t often considered when talking about returning defensive linemen.

At 6’ 5" and 317 pounds Weston is the ideal size for a defensive end in the Patriots scheme. And have played in the vaunted SEC is a reason that it might be interesting to see what Weston can do.

Put it this way… Deaderick and Love are big guys, and in the picture below you can see that Weston is even bigger than both of them.

Weston suffered an internal injury in the preseason game against the Falcons and required surgery. There’s no question he needed some time to develop anyways, but considering the Patriots spent a draft pick on him they must’ve seen some potential in him. He’ll be one guy under the radar to keep an eye on.

Jeff Howe: Top 10 Patriots Draft Prospects

Jeff Howe: Top 10 Patriots Draft Prospects

I like how Howe does it here instead of wasting our time with a mock draft I think it’s far better to just list guys who fit what the Patriots do. By April the Patriots will have a surprisingly small list of prospects that they like (some estimates to the size of their draft board is in the 30s). That’s what makes it easier to wheel and deal and figure out how to get those guys you want most.

Eventually we’ll try to provide the same thing here, but as you can see from our draft page it’s still very much a work in progress as we learn more and more about the prospects.

Tom Brady wins 2010 NFL Offensive Player of the Year

February 2, 2011 by Mike Dussault

Welp, it doesn’t really take any of the sting of how the season ended out, but congrats to TFB on an epic season. It was fun while it lasted.

Alright Mike, we’re up to the bye week so it’s time for some mid-season superlatives. Who are your… 1.) Biggest Surprise, 2.) Biggest Flop, 3.) Best 2014 Draft Pick so Far, 4.) Funniest Pats Moment thus far (on or off field), and 5.) Biggest WOW moment of the year thus far. Thanks!

Love it. Here goes: 1) Biggest Suprise –  few options here, but let’s take one from each side of the ball. On offense, I have to go with Brandon LaFell. What a perfect fit and signing at half the cost of Emmanuel Sanders. He brings size and physicality to a wide receiver corps that badly […]
