Under Armour is hosting a live draft chat with Tom Brady, moderated by Boomer Esiason, this morning from 10:45 – 11:25 a.m. ET.
Boomer and Brady will be discussing Draft Day from a player’s perspective and Brady’s rise from draft obscurity to MVP. A small group of fans selected from the Under Armour Facebook Draft Chat Photo Contest will also get the chance to ask Brady their questions in this intimate and exclusive setting.
Should be a great chance to hear what TFB thinks of the Patriots moves in the first round of the draft and whatever new additions they may acquire!
Here’s the paired down Patriots Only Big Board. The Pats are going to make some major noise on Friday!
Seems like people are generally accepting that while not the sexiest of picks, the selection of Nate Solder is what good teams do. They make sure that their offensive and defensive line always remain priority one.
I’m excited because I have been very high on Solder throughout the draft process. He is definitely still raw. But he is very similar to Sebastian Vollmer in that he is a) huge, b) athletic, and finally c) a model citizen.
This mean Solder, Vollmer and Gronkowski will be the future of protecting Tom Brady as he enters the “fragile” years. That’s a whole lotta man.
My quick top five top targets for a pick at 33:
More to come throughout the day!
We’ll be going live to discuss the Nate Solder selection, whatever happens with pick 28 and how the rest of the NFL fared at 11pm EST. Taking calls at 11:15pm: 213-816-1643. (213) 816-1643

33. Nate Solder (T): Solder would greatly benefit from a year with Dante Scarnecchia, and if he could have the kind of rookie year Sebastian Vollmer did where he’s eased in a bit, he’d be well prepared to be an eventual starter on whichever side he’s more comfortable. With him and Vollmer as the bookends of the future the Patriots offensive line would be intimidatingly huge. As a former tight end he has the foot skills necessary to get out and block the slip screens that the Patriots love to run. There might be greater needs but being able to take a talented player like Solder before the true need for a tackle has arrived is a huge luxury.

Solder to the Patriots at 17th overall. I had Solder to the Pats at 28 in my mock draft, I’ve thought he’s a great fit with his size and athleticism. Assuming the Pats re-sign Matt Light he’ll have a year to work with Dante Scarnecchia. I like the pick and it’s definitely in an area that will be a big need shortly…

Tom Brady was right to call out the Patriots offense after Jacksonville game – Patriots – Boston.com Good stuff as always and perhaps slightly more concerning than other takes… Brady, Wes Welker, Stevan Ridley, Danny Woodhead, and Deion Branch came to play against the Jaguars. Notice that those are four battled-tested veterans and a second-year […]
