Hey hey hey Patriots girl. Though it kinda would be better if this chick actually was a Patriots fan. Because I’m guessing she’s not sure who the Patriots even are and they probably had 11 other shirts of the playoff teams that she had to model standing by.

Great stuff from Zone Coverage…

zone-coverage:

Today’s Patriot video features the first defensive player, #23 Cornerback Leigh Bodden. Bodden has been in the league for a number of years, but sat out 2010 with a shoulder injury, after a 2009 season where he finished in the top 10 players in the league for pass deflections.

This highlights package begins with a set of Sanchez overthrows, followed by a perfect toe-dragging catch at 0.40. Also, the way he comes back to attack the ball underneath at the 2-minute is textbook man coverage. Breaking up a Peyton Manning slant route is no mean feat either. I’m excited to have Bodden back for the 2011 season!

Barnwell: Darius Butler 5th Least Valuable

Here’s what Barnwell had to say about DBut..

Butler began the season as a starter by allowing teams to go 26-of-35 for 253 yards in two games against him (plus two pass interference calls). He got benched and came in for three plays the following game, allowing a completion and missing a tackle before disappearing again. It took him six weeks to get any playing time after that.

Butler started getting some time in slot as the season wore on and Jonathan Wilhite was lost to injury. Patchung wasn’t at his best when playing a pure slot role, so Butler was eased back in. You’d hope that he’d show signs of improvement but in the season finale against the Phins, and the playoff game vs. the Jets he was dreadful.  He might still be having nightmares about Braylon Edwards dougy-ing on him.

Players on the Jets ripped off both nicknames from this poster. Well, we don’t want to get into the whole “John Conner wasn’t the Terminator he was the prophesied leader of the human resistance” but that nickname doesn’t exactly roll of the tongue does it?

“The thing about Tom is the sense of urgency. Not just the word, or the phrase, but the sense of urgency of ‘this is how you have to operate.’ Everything is business. Practice is business. Practice is game-mode. The thrill that you get, you should get it after you get the win. Throughout the week, it’s all business and you have to prepare like that. Everyone has to be accountable. No one can just say ‘they’re picking on me’ or ‘he’s picking on me’, you have to be accountable and you can’t feel like the coaches call you out.

"Bill was great at that. He’d give you a pop quiz in the middle of the hallway. ‘What is your assignment?’ You better believe, you better know it. So it’s things like that, he kept you on your toes. It was great. I loved it.”

Fred Taylor on TFB and BB.

Patriots vs. Chiefs Film Review: Offense Edition

As is usually the case, I felt a lot better about the Patriots offense after reviewing the All-22 game film. They certainly didn’t play great, but 27 points against a good defense is nothing to dismiss. The Chiefs had an effective gameplan and often blanketed the Patriots’ receivers in man-to-man coverage with a single high […]
