Today was rookie haircut day apparently, when the vets get the clippers and go nuts giving the rookies all kinds of outrageous new doos. Here’s Nate Solder’s, we call it the “Male Pattern Baldness”. Can’t wait to see more pictures of what went down…

And congrats to Jerod Mayo for winning the Steve Burton Community Service Award. Jerod is a true role model on and off the field, and exemplifies the kind of hard work, focus and dedication needed to be successful in any area of life. I think my Pats Padawan will have to get a 51 jersey when he grows out of his Vrabel.

The purpose of this post is two fold… first, it’s a primer for the BB NFL Films two-parter that’s coming out three weeks from Thursday, and second, it’s a nice little tribute to James Sanders and the “championship play” he made to put a final nail in the Colts coffin.

I know this game was a disaster but after re-watching a little bit I came away amazed with Mayo’s instincts. If you go back and look at the interception he dropped it was really an amazing play by Mayo, he faked the blitz then dropped right into the zone where the QB was about to throw the pass. This happened a couple times. I think Mayo is going to take the reigns as one of the top linebackers in the NFL.
