Know Your Enemy: Philip Rivers #26 on NFLN’s Top 100 of 2010

Jim Rome on Tom Brady
I like what Rome is saying, but it always annoys me when the pundits think suddenly this is the year the Patriots really mean business. It may not seem like it to some but they ALWAYS mean business. And if the season Brady put up in 2010 wasn’t a “middle finger” season I shutter at the thought of what’s to come.
He just does what he does which is preparing with an insane short term focus and taking it one game at a time. I truly don’t believe any thing like the hype Aaron Rodgers and Packers are getting have anything to do Brady or how he prepares.

Boston Globe/Bedard: Patriots Dolphins Report Card
Great stuff here from Bedard, Frenz and I mentioned this article a total of three times today on the podcast. And I’m not just quote/posting it because he’s so positive about the defense. Well, maybe a little.
Sorry, but the Patriots defense was good. And, for at least one night, it was improved.
Consider: The Patriots, despite sending an extra rusher on only 10 of 53 dropbacks, generated 20 quarterback pressures (sacks, hurries, and knockdowns combined).
That matched the 2010 season high set against Green Bay and first-time starting quarterback Matt Flynn.
And the 14 percent third-down conversion rate was no fluke. No matter what the Dolphins did on fourth downs in desperation garbage time.
“I wasn’t happy (with) the end result,” said Mangini, currently employed by ESPN as a studio analyst. “How it could have been different, how different decisions and events could have taken place. I’m not sure how it would have played out differently. I just didn’t want it to play out the way it did.”
Asked to describe his current relationship with Belichick, Mangini called it “a work in progress.”

Wow, the NFL is really going all out promoting this BB doc eh? Not that it needs any kind of promotion for me.
Boston Loves Their Bill
Boston is gearing up and getting pumped for a proud moment in New England fan-ship: the Bill Belichick documentary “A Football Life” (part 1 airs tomorrow @ 9 PM), by showing a bit of Patriots pride in Copley Square. You’ll find Columbus, the Tortoise, and the Hair all sporting Bill’s signature cut-off hoodie look and looking mighty adorable. I even scored some free swag, a football stress ball! Boston, be cuter, I dare you. Bill would be proud that his stylin’ comfy ways are making such a splash.

Famed Boston statues to get hoodie treatment
– It is the humblest of apparel, a cutoff cotton embodiment of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s no-frills public persona.

Robert Kraft Press Conference Transcript Having a hard time pulling just one quote from this whole thing, so if you didn’t hear it live you definitely have to go read it. Patriots fans felt abandoned by Mr. Kraft when he accepted the team punishment, but personally I understood why he did it. Unfortunately I think […]
