THE RAINMAKER

Gotta say it looks like Hernando has overtaken Jules as the current boo of Lady Pats Nation.

Peyton Manning’s Pro Bowl Practice Prank on Wes Welker

Hadn’t seen this before. Good one Peyton. Good one. But maybe it’s no longer such a mystery why you’re out this season? Welker works in mysterious ways…

Wes Welker sits down with Michael Irvin. Good stuff, and boy is Welker intense or what? And it’s good to see him cut down on the “ya’ knows”.

Patrick Chung called this the hardest hit of his young career on The Herd this morning. Chad Henne calls it the “huh? I don’t remember that” hit…

X’s and O’s with Bill Belichick

Must watch alert!

bostonandhh:

Always interesting to see the genius at work. Click the title to see Bill breakdown two plays from Sunday’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The first being a 3rd-and-6 stop in the first quarter in which they drop Ninkovich into coverage which allows Carter to get to Romo and sack him. The second play is a 20 yard screen to Gronk.

Wilfork on Patriots D: ‘From Terrible To Pretty Good’

Wilfork on Patriots D: ‘From Terrible To Pretty Good’

Yes, it’s a parade of “The Pats D is improving” articles today! We’re reaping the benefit of the defensive performance Cowboys game. Thank Hoodie for that, because I would’ve had to go into a media cocoon if it was going to be two weeks of “Where’s the pass rush” commentary. Here’s a sampling from Wilfork:

We’ve seen things go from terrible to pretty good,” said Wilfork. “Not great. We’re definitely not where we want to be, but at the same time we’re working towards it.”

“The past two weeks you’ve seen us, we have gotten better in certain areas and we’re going to continue to do that,” said the Patriots defensive captain. “Because Bill’s going to put the pressure us and we’re going to have to execute. If we execute our game plan and stop giving up mental mistakes and big plays we’ll be alright. I think the guys know that.”

NFL.com/Brooks: New England’s defense starting to jell after rough start to 2011

NFL.com/Brooks: New England’s defense starting to jell after rough start to 2011

Now this is my kind of article! It’s a Spikes, Haynesworth, Arrington love fest! Here’s a nice little nugget about Arrington:

Part of his success can be attributed to his versatility, instincts and awareness. As a cover corner with size, strength and athleticism, Arrington is capable of playing in the slot or outside in the Pats’ sub package. He excels at jamming receivers early in their routes, which disrupts the timing of the passing game and produces errant throws from the quarterback. His aggressiveness challenges receivers to make tough grabs under duress, and the persistent contact leads to tips or deflections in the back end.

The Patriots are now 102-4 since 2001 when they win the turnover battle. “I thought we executed better in the second half,” Brady said. “We just had a hard time getting going. We oviously didn’t play very well in the first half. I think we made a pretty big commitment at halftime to each other […]
