Classy comment from Brady below. I’m very interested to see how the Packers hold up down the stretch. The 2007 Patriots ran out of gas as the season winded down, limped through 2.90 playoff games and finally folded under two minutes from being the undisputed greatest team of all time.

Recently Tedy Bruschi spoke of how exhausting it was dealing with all the pressure and media focus that comes with the pursuit of perfection. The Packers have shown little sign of slowing down and it has yet to look like anyone has figured out a proverbial “blueprint”.

As much maligned as the Patriots secondary is I would relish the chance to see what Bill Belichick’s game plan would be to stop the Packers in the Super Bowl. Everyone said the Greatest Show on Turf was unstoppable in 2001 as well.

nfloffseason:

“It’s so impressive when you watch a team that can string together that many victories going all the way back to last season. It really tells you what the character and the make-up of the players on that team are. So them getting off to the start that they’ve gotten off to is very impressive. And the way Aaron’s playing, it’s impossible to play the quarterback position any better than he is playing it right now.”

Three areas for Patriots to improve vs. Colts

December 2, 2011 by Mike Dussault

It does make me slightly uncomfortable that everyone just assumes the Patriots will roll right over the Colts this weekend. Maybe they will, but I always hold our reservations that if Tom Brady is off and the Pats O makes a couple turnovers we could have ourselves a real game.

Assuming that doesn’t happen here are a few areas that the Pats stand to get some good experience that will serve them well when they face teams in January and (Hoodie-willing) February.

Nate Solder vs. Robert Mathis: This is one area that should be a great test for young Nate and should be a solid building block in getting him ready for the playoffs. Solder has been one of the unsung heroes of the 2011 season with Sebastian Vollmer battling injuries for most of the year. Solder was thrown right into the fire week one and has held up extremely well for someone we thought was raw and would need developmental time. Facing an experienced pass rusher with Mathis’ speed will be great experience for Solder.

Covering Reggie Wayne et al: Dan Orlovsky hopefully won’t be throwing the tight window darts that Peyton Manning is known for, but covering savvy veteran wide receivers like Wayne and Garcon will be good experience for our much maligned pass defense. Going against legitimate 1 and 1A wide receivers is what this defense needs to see more of, because they’re certainly going to see plenty of it in the playoffs.

Jump start the running attack: The Patriots ground game hasn’t been as dominating in recent weeks as they should be. Playing against the small, fast defenders of the Colts defense is a prime opportunity to get back to the mauling ways our o-line will need for late season weather games and playoff game clock killin’.

Let’s keep the Fitzy flashbacks going with this one from Super Bowl 41.5, when the Pats traveled to Indianapolis and Fitzy almost got shanked pregame.

Rob Gronkowski: Epic from Moment One as a Patriot

It was pretty clear this was the start of a beautiful relationship from the moment Gronk donned the Pats helmet and rocked out to the boos being reigned down upon him by the Pats haters.

He practices hard, he loves to play football. Whatever you ask him to do he’ll do his very best at it. If you want him to run through a wall he’ll put his head down and run through it.

Kinda bummed we won’t see any Manningface this weekend, unless Peyton might be on the sideline or in the press box? I would very much like that. At worst we’ll get acquainted with the Orlovskyface.
