Toward the end of the conversation, he dropped this tidbit about being able to keep his sanity thanks to having the constant support of two great friends, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens, who have kept his head up while he’s been practically invisible in the offense. ”For me, those guys were my outlets. Not Twitter,” Ochocinco said of Moss and Owens, who weren’t in football this season. ”To have those two guys in my corner, I talk to them all the time. (Moss) kept me sane for 16 weeks, every week. Every week we talked. T.O, too. We’re close-knit, us so-called diva receivers. Who is going to understand what I’m talking about, or going through, from my standpoint? Not Bill, not Tom. It’s like having my own personal support group. I love those two, man. I didn’t want to burden anyone else in here with that bull. They don’t want to hear that.”

The skinny on beating the Giants – The Boston Globe

If the Redskins did it twice we can do it once!

“They’ve got a matrix up front, as good a front as anybody in the National Football League,’’ Shanahan said. “To have a chance to win, you can’t get behind and let them tee off, just get in a one-dimensional game, at least we couldn’t. So we just felt like we had to keep them very honest and keep the running the game there where they just couldn’t tee off, and I felt like we did that when we had a chance.

Rob Gronkowski’s New Modell’s Ad “Gronking and Going to the ‘Ship”

Gronk can act too! (except not at all) But I’m left wondering if this ad took on a whole new direction because of the ankle.

Patriots ability to run on Giants “NASCAR” package a huge key

January 27, 2012 by Mike Dussault

We’re all aware of the Giants crew of defensive ends, and they even like to get all of them on the field at once in a four-DE package referred to as “NASCAR” because of all the speed they bring.

One of the biggest keys for the Patriots will be their ability to get their run game going against this package. Having multiple pass rushers is great when the opposition is passing, but if New England’s offensive linemen are able to make their run blocks it will take the Giants out of their element.

One of the biggest issues in the 2007 Super Bowl was that everyone knew the Patriots wanted to pass the ball. The Giants defensive linemen had little to fear with Laurence Maroney and the Patriots ground game.

But this time things are different. Now the Patriots run their 12 personnel (1 RB/ 2 TE) package more than any other. This package gives them the ability to run or pass with equal effectiveness and without tipping their hand.

Rob Gronkowski has really been the key to their ability to run this offense, so his ankle and how much it affects his blocking and route running will be major areas of concern.

If Gronk is able to play at even 80% it will still give the Patriots the match-up advantage. When the NASCAR package comes in it will be imperative that Benjarvus Green-Ellis makes them pay. If they’re able to do that it will keep the Giants on their heels, and give Tom Brady the extra second he will need when the Patriots do pass the ball.
