“Very unselfish,” coach Bill Belichick said. “We play him in different positions, where we feel like he’s maybe the most needed, not necessarily where it’s going to feature him or give him a great opportunity to make plays. But a lot of times it is to eat up blockers or try to disrupt plays. “He’s an explosive guy that’s got very good football instincts. He knows where the ball is, he knows what they’re trying to do. He really responded to a lot of the different challenges or positions that we put him in. He’s done a very unselfish job and been very productive.”

Patriots vs. Jets: Can New England Continue to Thrive off Turnovers? | Bleacher Report
Nice read from Frenz that begs the million dollar question…
They are now up to 31 turnovers on the season, including 12 in the past three games. They are an astounding plus-24 in turnover margin. How will they fare when they struggle to create turnovers? The Patriots can’t get stops on third downs, they can’t get stops in the red zone and they certainly can’t get stops through the air.
On the third down play, nose tackle Vince Wilfork did what he normally does, and that’s control the point of attack, take up two blockers, and free up space for linebacker Jerod Mayo to come down hill and make a play. Wilfork’s superb ability to anchor and not be moved laterally or horizontally is nearly unparalleled and vital to the defense’s success. On the following play (when Greene fumbled), Wilfork was able to penetrate a gap and cause disruption in the backfield with a host of teammates there to assist.

Maybe I’m just jaded because this is clearly the best defensive performance of the season, but I’m disappointed because once again it was totally based on getting turnovers. As I’ve written about incessantly that’s what this defense is, and when teams play into their hands like the Jets did so dreadfully, it looks great.
But what I’m still waiting for is a solid defensive performance when they don’t get any turnovers. Don’t mean to be Debbie Downer, I’ll take a win like this over the Jets any week of the season.
Still, I think this defense has something to prove before I feel confident about going up against the elite NFL clubs in the playoffs.
