There’s a fine line this weekend for sure, and even if the Texans win the Patriots still have a shot at the bye if Denver loses, no matter how much of a long shot that might seem.
I was all for resting Brandon Spikes last week, but sitting him again, or at least limiting his reps, should be on the table again. Hernandez could probably use a light day as well.
Just coming out of this weekend as healthy as possible is paramount, but I wouldn’t discount a Texans or Broncos loss so the Pats shouldn’t just sit everyone.

Brady, Wes Welker, Stevan Ridley, Danny Woodhead, and Deion Branch came to play against the Jaguars. Notice that those are four battled-tested veterans and a second-year back (Ridley) trying to prove himself after some recent fumbles.
