On the Gregory interception, Belichick points out a strong one-on-one rush by rookie defensive end Chandler Jones which also tightens the pocket. “Chandler played probably his best game of the year,” Belichick says, highlighting how Jones used a power rush on rookie left tackle Jonathan Martin before coming back inside.

Really good sign that Chandler played so well last weekend, there were some concerns that he just wasn’t the same player he had been before missing time with his injury.

The Best of the Week in PatsPropaganda

January 5, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Between being on vacation the last two weeks and the Pats next opponent still being uncertain I feel like we just hit a mini mid-season void here.

Really we haven’t learned too much about the Patriots since the 49ers game. They flash from dominant to invisible from game to game and often, drive to drive. Is there a chance they can put it all together for three games to glory? Sure.

But they’ll need to be clutch, and that’s something that has gone absent on the biggest stages at times over the past few seasons.

There’s one thing that won’t happen though…the Patriots will not be blown out. Every game they play over the next month will be close.

If they lose it will be because the other team just outplayed them in the final five minutes and they’ll lose by one to six points. It’s really just that simple.

Here the best of the week for Saturday morning…

Here’s a little audio slideshow about the Patriots-Raiders Snow Bowl that I participated in for NESN.com, along with some other Patriots and Raiders bloggers.

Fun trip down memory lane, especially as a fan.

Why do you want us to face the Pack in the SB? Our secondary against Aaron Rodgers and his receivers is a scary thought.

January 5, 2013 by Mike Dussault

I know, that’s more just because I think they’ll be the ones to survive the NFC death match. I’d rather play the 49ers or Seahawks if it was up to me. But yes, Pack vs. our pass defense would be a little scary for sure, but I do think that would be an amazing matchup and game.
