Patriots Must Improve in Playoff Rematch with Texans
The Monday column at Bleacher Report is up, it’s a long look at where the Texans had, and could have, success against the Patriots.
AFCDG Week is here!
The indication that I’ve gotten is that Belichick signed a lucrative contract extension at some point in 2011. And Jonathan Kraft has said several times that he expects Belichick to be here for a “number of years to come.”

Taking a look at Patriots-Texans the second time around – Extra Points – Boston.com
Good quick breakdown here…
The Bengals were pushed around at defensive tackle (opposite Geno Atkins) and on the edges at defensive and linebacker against the Texans’ zone running game. And Arian Foster ran 32 times for 140 yards. He was 15 for 46 against the Patriots because Vince Wilfork, Brandon Deaderick, Kyle Love, Jerod Mayo and Brandon Spikes owned the interior, and Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich owned the edges. Take away the threat of playaction, and Schaub is below average and he’s line isn’t as elite as it normally is.
Belichick was asked if the Dec. 10 game between the teams (a 42-14 Patriots win) gives New England any type of advantage in preparations. “No, as we all know, when you play a team twice during the season, the games are totally different. They never go the same way,” he answered. “We’ll be able to certainly look at some of the matchups, individually of guys that faced each other in the game, but as far as plays and calls and things like that matching up, I’m sure they’ll have some new wrinkles and I’m sure we’ll have some too. It will be totally different.”

Patriots offensive groupings for first Texans game
The Patriots were fairly balanced in this one despite not having Gronk. He’ll replace Hoomanwanui in the 12 personnel and likely the Pats will play that the majority of the time in the rematch.
Patriots Offensive Drives vs. Texans.
That stretch of three straight three-and-outs and a six-and-out is a little concerning.
