Ten things we love about the Patriots-Ravens rivalry – WEEI | Christopher Price

Ten things we love about the Patriots-Ravens rivalry – WEEI | Christopher Price

Whether you are talking about the players, the coaches (Belichick gave Harbaugh a reference when he was interviewing for the head coaching job) or the owners, both franchises appreciate and respect the way the other does business. Both are in a select group of model, stable franchises that always seem to be at or near the top of the league. New England has operated a steady ship for the last decade plus, while the Biscotti family has done the same with the Ravens. At the heart of that relationship is the shared respect between Baltimore personnel man Ozzie Newsome and Belichick – Newsome played for the Browns, and cut his teeth working with Belichick when the coach was in Cleveland.

Gronkowski’s arm broke at the end of the protective plate that was implanted in his arm. Gronkowski sustained the new injury when he went hard to the ground while diving for a pass against the Houston Texans in the first quarter of the Patriots AFC Divisional Playoff game. There will always be a risk to the area at the end of the plate, the source explained, because of a “collection of stress.” The injury could have occurred “three years from now” in the same spot, said the source.

So they just leave this plate in there and it can break your arm again? Well that bodes well for the future, ugh…

Well you’re talking on officiating. The fumble that didn’t count because the ref blew forward momentum. Was the ref completely wrong and how impressed were you by Brandon Spike’s dancing?

January 15, 2013 by Mike Dussault

That was a tough call. A really quick whistle, and the Pats were due to force a fumble. It’s just what they do.

As for Spikes I just enjoy watching him so much. If you think back to when the Ravens smoked us in 2009 it was because we didn’t have an inside linebacker like Spikes.  The Texans are a tough match up for him, but the Ravens are a pretty good one. I expect he’ll be big this weekend like he was last year when he got the interception that should’ve sealed it.
