How Could the New England Patriots Utilize Armond Armstead? | Bleacher Report

Good stuff from Frenz on my favorite topic…

In 2010 (Wright’s last year, with just 320 defensive snaps), the Patriots leaned on 543 snaps from defensive tackle Gerard Warren, along with a rotation of Ron Brace (285 snaps), Brandon Deaderick (258) and Myron Pryor (242).

In 2011, Vince Wilfork played 1,173 snaps and Kyle Love played 696 snaps. Shaun Ellis was largely ineffective in 421 snaps, and Deaderick saw his snap total rise to 383. Gerard Warren (371) continued to contribute, as well. Albert Haynesworth (134) was released after eight games.

In 2012, Wilfork (1,041) and Love (591) once again carried a significant load. The Patriots utilized defensive end Jermaine Cunningham (487) as an interior pass-rusher in some nickel packages. Deaderick (467) once again saw his snap total increase. Defensive ends Justin Francis (301) and Trevor Scott (289) were the only other defensive linemen to carry a significant workload in 2012.

Michael Crabtree fan of ‘legend’ Wes Welker | Boston Herald

“I actually got into it with Wes Welker when I first went to college,” the San Francisco 49ers receiver said yesterday. “He said something about me playing in the summer. We were doing one-on-ones with some guys that were in the NFL that used to go to Tech. He was holding me, and I was fresh out of high school, had an attitude, and I was cussing him out to get off of me. He got in my face like I was going to back down.” Naturally, that wasn’t the case. “That was one of those things I was letting him know I’m about to come in there and do better than what he did,” Crabtree said. “It was just fun and games. That’s my dude, though.”

After the Ravens won the AFC championship, Arthur, Jon and Chandler met up and took a picture. Jon told Shutdown Corner that he wanted to share the picture with fans, but Chandler worried about one person seeing the pic. “We haven’t seen each other much and I said, we should take a picture, because I was automatically thinking about the fans and what they wanted to see. I’m sure they wanted to share that moment with us. It was a picture of me and Chandler holding up Arthur. I tweeted it, and Chandler had no clue I tweeted the picture,” Jon said. “He was like, [Patriots coach Bill] Belichick is not going to want to see a picture of me holding up a Raven with a smile on my face. I understood, so I took the picture down, but it was so much more about being with our brother. We were so happy for Arthur.”

Spiller stumbled at about the 2-yard line before he met Brandon Spikes, who came flying in from his linebacker spot. Spikes not only knocked Spiller sideways, he jarred the ball loose. It was picked up by Wilfork, who rumbled a couple of yards in the other direction before being brought down. While there wasn’t enough time at the end of the first half for the Patriots to do anything about it, the fact that New England was able to keep Buffalo out of the end zone at the end of the first half proved to be a big momentum shift in the game.

New England Patriots Gameplan: Week 7 at Pittsburgh Steelers

The 5-1 Patriots travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers Sunday in what was supposed to be an AFC Championship game preview, but with Ben Roethlisberger out the game won’t quite live up to that hype. Still the Steelers have two of the most dynamic weapons in the game — Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, […]
