How Will Patriots Offense Transition from Old Reliable to Sleak New Model? | Bleacher Report
Good stuff from Frenzy…
Patriots sign safety Adrian Wilson
Good move for the Pats to lock up the longtime Cardinal veteran. Of all the moves the Patriots have made in the last few days, this one seems to me like the most effective one. The Patriots struggled all year defending the middle of the field against the pass, and also lacked an intimidator on the back end. Wilson should bring a little of both.

Woodhead’s Agent(?) says goodbye…
“There’s a part of me that’s sad,” said Chris Gittings, who represents Woodhead. “We’ll have lifetime memories of the time in New England. He felt a special relationship with the fans. He loved them, and he knew they loved him. He was very appreciative of the opportunity the Patriots gave him.”
In three seasons with the Patriots, Woodhead amassed 250 carries for 1,199 yards and 10 touchdowns, plus 92 receptions for 982 yards and four scores.
As far as comparisons to Wes, I’ve been hearing it for a long time,” Amendola said Friday. “I watched him play the whole time – he’s a great player, he’s had a number of Pro Bowls and done a lot of good things to help the Patriots win. One of my main goals is to fill my role and try to do what I can to now help the Patriots win as well.

With the opportunity to play with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, you look at the history, the way those guys carry themselves on the football field, and the way they play as an organization, it’s something that the leaders, or myself, want to be a part of,” Washington said. “[I wanted to be part of a team] that can push me and make me a better person and a better football player. When I became a free agent, that’s one thing I wanted. I looked at an organization that believes in winning, who wants to win the Super Bowl, and every day they do things the right way… With the opportunity to go to New England, I jumped right on it. It was a perfect fit.

Danny Woodhead has signed a two-year deal with the San Diego Chargers. Between Stevan Ridley, Brandon Bolden, Shane Vereen and now Leon Washington (to an extent), there wasn’t an overwhelming need to bring Woodhead back to New England, though he was arguable the Patriots most reliable runningback in 2012. He was a fun player to watch, and the great heart he played with will be missed.

Reiss: How do the Patriots approach the Combine Must read alert for anyone who puts a lot of stock in what Kiper, McShay or even my main man Mayock say. Great excerpt from Scott Pioli a couple years ago: “We prefer to train our own people to scout and look for a specific type of […]
