He’d probably play the X spot, but I think that ultimately you need at least three WRs and I think Sanders would give them two. Who knows, maybe Jenkins and/or Jones click with Brady and suddenly they’re the next Jabar Gaffney circa 2007. But I don’t feel sure that either of them even make the team at this point, especially with Edelman back.
Outside of Amendola, I don’t feel sure on any of these guys. Would love to add one more explosive young guy that can be groomed for the long-term. One with good size would add a new dimension to the offense, but I still think this offense is one receiver away. Doesn’t mean it’s the biggest need, I’d probably lean cornerback as that right now.

Rob Gronkowski won’t be having surgery to check on the status of his infection, and ultimately install a new plate in his left forearm just yet. According to one source familiar with the proceedings, the decision for now is to have the Patriots tight end delay the surgery for several more weeks to be sure the infection has completely cleared out, and continue with the course of antibiotics.

Not really sure this is good news. If they have to go back in regardless of the infection just to change the plate and the recovery time for that is 10 weeks, delaying it only puts more of the season in jeopardy, right? Ugh, I can’t believe what a pain in the ass this injury has turned into. Usually with a broken bone it heals up and you’re good to go, unlike major ligament injuries that can take a full two years to heal completely from. At this point I don’t know what to expect.

Yeah I hope so, I do think everyone should be prepared for the offense to be a little clunky at times. They were so hot or cold in 2012, either unstoppable or couldn’t get a first down. But I think by the end of the season they should start to click, and hopefully be a more well-rounded offense that is less predictable with less obvious situational targets.
In terms of the draft, I think you’re right, there are only so many needs on the team at this point and they really can take the best player available. But as things stand now with Dennard back in the fold and assuming Sanders comes I’d put the needs as:
“Just been training, trying to get my body right, get my strength up so I can have a decent season next year,” Hernandez told the Herald yesterday. “I’d say more attention to specific muscles instead of just doing the basic bench, squat and all that other stuff. I’d say I started a little earlier this year to maybe try to get through 16 games this season. “It’s away from everything else — away from my family, my friends, gives me time to focus on football, focus on my main priorities in life.”

With the loss of Welker and Lloyd, and Gronk potentially unavailable for the start of the season, there’s nothing the Patriots need more on offense than a full healthy season out of Hernando.
