One line of thinking is that the Patriots claimed safety Don Jones on waivers from the Dolphins on Monday so they could gather some intelligence leading into the season opener against Miami. Jones figured that was part of it, too. “I thought they would, but shoot, they haven’t asked me about anything,” Jones told me late in the week. “It surprised me a little bit.”
