One football question for Brown from our chat: Any thoughts on Danny Amendola being issued his No. 80?

“I know a little about him, great slot receiver, makes some plays,” Brown answered. “But I don’t get caught up in a lot of things like that. I’m cool with it. As long as he goes out and plays like a Patriot, I’m good.”

Rex Ryan wrote in his book, “Play Like You Mean It,” that Bill Belichick called free agent Jason Taylor every day last offseason while trying to sign him before the Jets landed him. It was believed that Belichick was interested in Taylor, but I don’t think anyone realized it went to that extent.
