Heading into his third season, Ryan Mallett still seemed to be fighting some of the issues that have dogged him the last two years. He had trouble getting through his reads quickly enough at times, and also had a number of really inaccurate throws.

Patriots OTA observations from afar of players with no jersey numbers…

Working on a Brady replacement plan piece for Thursday, and this is a huge summer for Mallet. Not the start he’s looking for. If he wants a trade and extension he’s going to have to show something this preseason, otherwise he’ll back-up Brady in 2014 and then walk.
