Here’s a graph of the playing time for the defensive backs. As you can see McCourty has been 100% across the board. Meriweather is spiking back up towards 90% playtime as of late. Sorry it’s a little hard to clearly read, I’ll be experimenting to see if there’s a better graph that makes it easier.

Belichick was also Parcells-like when discussing running back Fred Taylor and his possible return from a toe injury; Taylor is making progress but Belichick got a bit punchy when discussing a timetable for any injured player.

“The next time you get a cold, we should say ‘When are you going to feel good?’ Tell me exactly when you are going to feel good. That’s exactly what you guys ask me,” Belichick said. “Next time you get sick, you tell me the exact date when you are going to feel good, and make sure you are confident you are going to hit that target. It’s impossible.”

Brett Favre Tosses Balls Today

Brett Favre Tosses Balls Today

Of course… is there a more annoying team than Brad Childress and the Vikings? I don’t hate them. I just want them to go away.

Oh happy day, Patrick Chung highlights! Can’t tell you how happy I am that Chung was not seriously hurt against the Chargers. All signs are pointing to him being out there versus the Vikes.

NFLN: The Patriots & the Loss of Moss

NFLN: The Patriots & the Loss of Moss

Someone asked me yesterday what I thought about what kind of info Randy Moss could give Chilly and pals about the Patriots. I don’t really think it will have the big of an effect. Ultimately it all comes down to execution. The Patriots will change any signals or calls that Moss might give them, and anything else he can tell them, i.e. “watch out for Shawn Crable, he’s an absolute beast”, they’d be able to see on film anyways.

You know BB knows what Moss would be able to tell them, and they’ll plan accordingly. That said, I am with Tedy Bruschi is hoping that they fans at Gillette give him a nice round of applause. Rooting for him was something special, but to be honest, I don’t really miss him.

Patriots Defensive Game Plan Reviews UPDATED***

October 29, 2010 by Mike Dussault

San Diego Chargers

The 3-4 defense was again solid vs the run. But the subpackages in the second half gave up alot of yards and almost cost them the game in the fourth quarter. Clutch special teams come through again causing a false start penalty that backed the field goal attempt to tie five yards.

Sub: 50 of 71
Base:
 18 of 71
Short-yardage: 3 of 71
