Zoltan Mesk punting the crap out of the ball vs. the Ravens 2010 We definitely don’t give enough love to the punters and kickers here on the blog, but Zoltan definitely deserves some recognition for his performance in this game. If you want to see what a game saving punt looks like go to the 2:45 mark.

The outside receivers are OK, they’re average to above-average. They’re not a threat. Those guys don’t scare you. What scares you is what (Wes) Welker can bring to their offense. … If they ever got the running back now to go with Wes Welker and those two tight ends, they’re going to be (trouble).

Opposing coach on Patriots who must’ve been quoted before the draft I hope. Otherwise he sure doesn’t think much of Vereen or Ridley.

Scouts Inc: Patriots LBs 3rd in AFCE

The New England Patriots are third on the list behind the strength of Pro Bowl inside linebacker Jerod Mayo. Aside from him, however, there’s a lot to be desired in regard to established talent. Williamson believes sophomore inside linebacker Brandon Spikes has a bright future. Many questions remain on the outside, a spot that could be improved in free agency.

Miami was #1, Jets #2… Hard to argue with Pats being #3 though the development of Spikes will help matters, and they’re certainly younger than the Jets. You know what else would help? A dominant OLB…

Ryan Mallett Sugar Bowl Highlights

I don’t really follow college football much, so this was a good video to get a sense of just what Mallett is capable of. His laser rocket arm is pretty apparent, and for a guy who got knocked for his speed/mobility he looks like he does a good job just having enough quickness to open up the throwing lanes.

I’ll tell you what, a guy that I really like, and I watched in the later part of the year was Devin McCourty. He’s tough, challenging, and to get to meet him at the Pro Bowl this past year, I like the feel of him. I think he’s going to be a great corner. He’s playing in a great defense, a great system, so I expect to see big things from him.

Patriots Begin Team Building

It hasn’t been flashy but the Patriots have begun building their 2017 squad as the “legal tampering period” opens. The initial moves started with the re-signing of James Develin, who didn’t even need to hit the open market. #Patriots signed FB and tough dude James Develin to a 2-year deal worth $2.8M, source said. Checking off […]
