Belichick Super Bowl 53 Hoodie Prediction

January 31, 2019 by Mike Dussault

Last year I felt like I failed Patriots Nation. The only truly important part of my illustrious blogging career is tracking Bill Belichick’s hoodies and knowing which ones he should wear in the biggest games.

For Super Bowl 52 I failed to see the biggest factor for Belichick and his hoodies in the biggest game of all. It was just sitting there staring me in the face and had I alerted Belichick via his ladyfriend Linda Holliday of this factor we might be sitting with six rings already.

For a coach known for cutting off his sleeves, it’s actually the common thread in the three Super Bowl losses. How did I miss it? There’s no excuse.

So here we are, on the verge of another Super Bowl and I’ve been #blessed with another chance to redeem myself with a simple disclaimer — DON’T CUT THE SLEEVES!!

But there’s a reason to worry. A new hoodie emerged this season, the 2016 Gray model with… cut sleeves. He’s 5-3 in it this year, including the AFC Championship win over the Chiefs, but those three losses sure are disconcerting.

I can’t help but have a bad feeling this hoodie will be at the forefront of Belichick’s Super Bowl 53 closet. However, sometimes he’s zags when you least expect it. Last year’s choice of the practice workhorse hoodie, the cut 2013 model, was pretty surprising.

What would be a good hoodie to zag to this year? Obviously one with sleeves, but he hasn’t worn a sleeve-intact sweatshirt all season. So let’s go with the winningest all time piece of attire — the Hot Jacket. He’s worn it in 49 games going 37-12, though he was just 3-2 in it this season.

He won Super Bowl 51 in a de-elvis‘d Hot Jacket which was another in a long list of strange wardrobe twists for the coach. I’d feel good about any Hot Jacket choice, with or without the Flying Elvis.

But the ultimate best choice? An intact blue hoodie with full sleeves. He’s won four Super Bowls in blue, one in gray. Seeing some pushed up sleeves ala Super Bowls 38, 39 and 49 would give a boost of confidence.

Let’s get word to Linda and remember to spread to word because all that really matters for the Patriots’ chances this weekend is NO CUT SLEEVES!

Clazzy Clare does the Draft: Tight End

Now you know I couldn’t write any draft articles and not tell you all about some of the tight ends for this year.  Whilst I know the Patriots early round picks need to be spent elsewhere, and I’m not in any argument, I want me a cornerback and some offensive line please. But, late round […]
