Belichick AFC Championship Hoodie Preview

It’s already Wednesday and I’m still finding myself torn between glowing reviews of the near-perfect game against the Chargers and overwhelmed gameplanning for the Chiefs. So let’s start off easy and get a Bill Belichick Hoodie prediction in.

By all accounts the temperatures will be near zero for the game, meaning Belichick will likely be bundled up in a winter jacket like he was last week. But what should he wear underneath? What should you wear if you want to make your own hoodie to wear for good luck? Well let’s take a dive in.

First, let’s start with a quick look at recent AFC Championship games since 2011. He’s 1-2 in his favorite Hot Jacket, which seems crazy to think he’s spent three January games without a winter jacket. He’s also worn a gray hoodie three times, also going 1-2, though one of those losses was half Hot Jacket, half Gray Hoodie so each gets a little of the blame.

What about against the Chiefs? In the last three he’s 2-1 all wearing the Hot Jacket. This included the 2015 playoff win. The 2014 regular season thrashing in KC he wore a Blue ’13 Hoodie uncut. The other road loss in KC way back in 2005 featured a Gray Hoodie also uncut.

One truth we know for sure is that Belichick cannot wear cut sleeves in the Super Bowl. He’s lost every time they’ve been cut. But in the AFC Championship he’s 1-1.

There’s no easy answer. The one cut Hoodie he worse this year he went 1-3 on the road in. That’s terrifying. With sleeves intact, he’s lost twice in KC.

Thus maybe it’s best if there is no hoodie or hot jacket underneath, just warm layers that keeps Belichick warm in then coldest of conditions and enables him to coach to his best ability.

But if he had to wear one, why not bust out an old gray Reebok uncut hoodie like he wore in KC in 2004. Last year he resurrected a blue Reebok hoodie underneath his winter jacket and this time around the gray could have similar good mojo left in it.
