Five Patriots open on the PUP list

July 28, 2011 by Mike Dussault

This is actually a pretty manageable list compared to previous years. Brace and Deaderick were neck and neck for my favorites to not pass the conditioning run. Assuming that’s what happened there.

Hernandez, Pryor and Warren were all recovering from injuries last season. We’ve seen Hernando around so hopefully he’s close. It’s a bummer that Warren isn’t ready to go yet, and Pryor is probably the one disappointing surprise. He came back from a back injury late in the season only to get injured again. It looks like he might have to prove he can stay healthy if he wants to keep his interior pass rush role.

DL Ron Brace
DL Brandon Deaderick
TE Aaron Hernandez
DL Myron Pryor
DE Ty Warren

ESPN/Clayton: Ochocinco to the Patriots

July 28, 2011 by Mike Dussault

Does this qualify as a shocker? Not quite Haynesworth level since this one has been discussed on and off for what feels like years at this point, but it finally looks like Ochocinco to the Patriots is close to official as reported by John Clayton.

I’ve always enjoyed Chad, I just don’t want the Chad Circus to become a distraction. If he walks the Belichick line then I’m excited to add another dynamic playmaker who will be come the second star wide receiver in five years to join forces for a post-30 Super Bowl run with Tom Brady.

Since the patriots seem to be slow starters early in the season and get better as the season goes on, when do u expect them to really start clicking

It usually take 4-6 games to really know what you have. At that point your strengths and weaknesses are pretty apparent, not only internally but to the rest of the NFL as well. Then it becomes about trying to fix those problems. Ideally, I’d like to see how they respond to a lot of different […]
