Any thoughts on the push for Sanders? Do you think he’s worth giving up one of our picks in the draft for considering we don’t have as many as we’re used to?

April 10, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Given that it’s a one-year deal I think it comes down to they like him, and think he’s good value for a third round pick, but they’re not positive he’s going to “get it” so they’re protecting themselves. It would ensure that they don’t have a glaring need come draft day, though it would still be a need. It’s rare that they enter the draft saying “we must come away with a potential starter at position X”. It’s definitely a ballsy move given their lack of draft capital, and that nothing tells us Sanders is an easy fix at the outside receiver spot. Still a passing offense with him, Amendola, Donald Jones, Edelman, Gronk and Hernando would have some potential.
