Any chance the Pats go after Mike Wallace?

February 27, 2013 by Mike Dussault

I’ve just never seen it with Mike Wallace. Pittsburgh has a notoriously simple offense, where Wallace would do nothing more than run fast down the field and catch the ball. Things are far from that simple in New England. Receivers need to get to the line, read the defense and determine one of as many as three routes Brady will want them to run.

Instead of spending all that money on another free agent WR who may or may not “get it”, I think the Pats need to go after one in the draft. There should be plenty of them available that fit the mold (like Justin Hunter who I mocked to them in my latest mock draft today). It’s a safer move financially, and it will allow the Pats to develop the receiver from the ground up so to speak.

The rise of nickel defenses in the NFL: Bradley Roby, Jimmy Ward mark new wave of slot cornerbacks – NFL – SI.com Not really a Pats read but one of those schematic writeups that I just can’t keep my posting finger off of. Look, I’ve been saying nickel is the new base for almost two […]
