A lot of people might forget about this Pats-Steelers regular season matchup in 2005. While the Pats won the battle it was the Steelers who eventually went on to win the war, and the fact that Pittsburgh ended the seasons of both Matt Light and Rodney Harrison in this game played a big part in that.

Had Light and Harrison both played in the 2005 AFCDG against the Broncos there’s a good chance the Pats would’ve pulled it out and then hosted the Steelers in the AFCCG. Of course that’s not how it worked out, but given a choice of facing Jake Plummer or Tom Brady I’m sure every Steeler fan would choose Plummer.

I will continue to harp on this all week but New England KNOWS HOW to beat Pittsburgh. It’s just going to be a matter of execution.
