Three players really stuck out. Quarterback Tom Brady was efficient and accurate with his throws, and wide receiver Jabar Gaffney and Aaron Hernandez shined on the other side of them. After dropping a ball during skeleton drills, Gaffney caught everything thrown his way in team drills, including a 50-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline from Brady. Hernandez didn’t catch as many passes, but his explosion out of his cuts was very noticeable, especially on the first day of camp. He broke away from defenders with a gear that other players weren’t showing on day one. It’s also worth noting that Hernandez stuck with the wide receivers during positional drills at the start of the session.
