2018 Belichick Hoodie Update & AFCDG Prediction

Another regular season of tracking Bill Belichick’s attire is behind us and with Sunday’s AFC Divisional game on the horizon it’s a good time to regroup on what Belichick wore this season and what he should wear this weekend.

His all-time games and wins leader, the Hot Jacket, went just 3-2 this season as Belichick shifted to a cut 2016 Gray Hoodie for seven games, going 4-3. Yes, all five of the losses came in those two pieces. Randoms like a new Bomber Jacket popped up and won two games.

Updating the all-time standings, the Hot Jacket just extended it’s overall lead over the infamous original gray cut hoodie.

What should Belichick wear in the playoffs? Last season in the divisional round he dropped a bomb on your faithful hoodie tracker, wearing the Blue Reebok Hoodie that had been in the closet for six years.

2016 Gray Cut Hoodie (4-3 in 2018)

Historically, Belichick wore his OG Reebok Gray Cut Hoodie against the Chargers in 2006’s AFC Divisional round. The next year in the AFC Championship he was bundled in a blue winter coat. The recent Chargers history since 2005’s loss:

Given the weather conditions, projected to be in the 20s, it’s a good bet that Belichick could likely wear the winter coat he’s rocked the last two weeks. He did the same last year in this round, but kept the winter jacket open for most of the game, teasing me with the glimpse of the old hoodie below.

He was 2-0 in those final two games of the season, and given the tainted luck of the Hot Jacket and the 2016 Gray Hoodie, I’d be fine not knowing what’s underneath unless he wants to drop another bomb on me and bust out another old Reebok hoodie (that’s technically illegal for him to wear now due to the apparel deal with Nike).

Being 2-0 against the Chargers in the Hot Jacket and nabbing some his biggest career wins over SD/LA in the Gray Reebok Hoodie, there should be some good vibes left in both. If he had the old Gray Reebok Hoodie underneath I might lose my mind and it would be a nice nod to some past big wins.
