Tweets of Note: Patriots Training Camp Practice #13

August 14, 2016 by Mike Dussault

After a day off the Patriots were back on the field Sunday, getting ready for three days of joint practices with the Bears this week.

The injury news continues to be positive with Ninkovich at practice today, Edelman a full participant (granted it wasn’t a full-go pads practice) and the MRI results of Malcolm Mitchell’s elbow coming back clean.

So far the Pats have dodged some major injury problems, that luck has to continue into the season.

Here are the tweets that stood out from Sunday’s practice.

Here’s Rob Ninkovich, back at practice, five days after suffering torn triceps pic.twitter.com/mjtJb8GyOn

Biggest benefit of it being an arm injury is that Nink can keep up on his conditioning. Obviously rehabbing the arm to battle in the trenches will take time, but he shouldn’t miss much of a beat.

Not seeing Malcolm Mitchell, Nate Ebner, Dion Lewis, Bryce Williams, Tre’ Jackson, Jon Cooper, Vollmer, Jabaal Sheard at Patriots camp.

— Doug Kyed (@DougKyed) August 14, 2016

Sheard a bit of a surprise though he got looked at a couple times in the preseason game by the training staff. Wouldn’t say it’s anything to worry about.

O-line today: Solder, Thuney, Andrews, Mason, Cannon

— Mark Daniels (@MarkDanielsPJ) August 14, 2016

Mason seems to be atop the RG depth right now, but I’m curious if we see more Josh Kline there as the preseason progresses. Tre Jackson better get back soon.

Cre’Von LeBlanc got some snaps opposite of Malcolm Butler today

— Mark Daniels (@MarkDanielsPJ) August 14, 2016

Great interception by LeBlanc in then game and now he’s getting a closer look. Still think his size puts him at a significant disadvantage.

Andrews/Stork still competing for starting center reps.

— Doug Kyed (@DougKyed) August 14, 2016

Good see Stork right back into the mix at center after what was reported to be a concussion. So curious how this one plays out.

Patriots practice finishing up. Little bit of a sloppy session in the heat. Plenty of drops. Garoppolo picked by Richards.

— Phil Perry (@PhilAPerry) August 14, 2016

Horrible heat and humidy means a good mental toughness day. Hard practices like this are what really gets your team ready for the season.

Nate Washington had two nice deep ball catches today. One was over Butler

— Mark Daniels (@MarkDanielsPJ) August 14, 2016

He’s got a lot of ground to make up.

Trey Flowers and Jonathan Jones got some additional opportunities with first defense today

— Paul Perillo (@pfwpaul) August 14, 2016

Good to see these guys getting a chance with the top defense. Like most of us, I’m super excited to see Flowers progress this preseason. He should have a role on defense.
