Here are your Tweets Of Note from Day 14 of the Patriots Training Camp!

Absent on Day 2 of Patriots-Panthers joint practice:

Hunter Henry
Yasir Durant
Bill Murray
Andrew Stueber
Justin Herron
Isaiah Wynn

Henry and Durant both left early yesterday.

Fourth straight practice Wynn has not participated.

— Zack Cox (@zm_cox) August 17, 2022

Some new absences today, most notably, Hunter Henry. Zack Cox also notes that Isaiah Wynn missed his fourth-straight practice, although Bill Belichick described his condition as “day to day” yesterday.

Myles Bryant jumped in front of a flat route for an INT in 1-on-1s

— Alex Barth (@RealAlexBarth) August 17, 2022

Nice moment for Myles Bryant who has had a good camp thus far. With Joejuan Williams and Malcolm Butler being done for the season, opportunities are up for grabs, giving Bryant some extra motivation ahead of the regular season.

Highlight play: Mac Jones to Nelson Agholor in 11-on-11 red-zone drill, with Agholor leaping to beat double/triple coverage in right corner of end zone. Nice adjustment to ball in air by Agholor.

— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) August 17, 2022

Nelson Agholor is another who’s had a solid camp, which was probably needed by him with questions about his future on the roster doing the rounds. The team seems like they want the offense to push the ball downfield more in the passing game from what’s been seen at practice, Agholor surely should think he’s the man to be that threat for the team.

David Andrews came off the field in some pain during a Patriots two-minute drill. James Ferentz now in at center.

— Zack Cox (@zm_cox) August 17, 2022

After making it fairly unscathed through the first few weeks of camp, the Pats are slowly building a list of injuries. This is one to watch, let’s hope it’s not serious.

Already two fights at today at joint practices…

First one looked like it started with Kristian Wilkerson suffering what I thought was a non-contact injury. Panthers safety Kenny Robinson stood by Wilkerson prone on the turf. Robinson drew the ire of Pats, starting the fracas.

— Phil Perry (@PhilAPerry) August 17, 2022

Never seen it get to this point in any joint practice with the Patriots in Bill Belichick’s tenure (2000-present).

— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) August 17, 2022

Well, they were at it again. I can imagine both Bill and Matt Rhule were furious with this major disruption to practice again.

It seemed to stem from a Panthers player taunting an injured Kristian Wilkerson (who had to be carted off after this incident). Mike Reiss makes an interesting point that he can’t recall a time when a joint practice got so out of hand under Bill’s tenure previously.

Jalen Mills intercepts Sam Darnold's sideline pass for D.J. Moore on the first snap of Darnold's 2-minute drill and punts the ball in celebration.

Mills has looked like a genuine shutdown CB in training camp.

— Andrew Callahan (@_AndrewCallahan) August 17, 2022

Jalen Mills has been one of the best players for the Patriots this week, and I’ll happily say that I am pleasantly surprised.

I didn’t rate Mills at all after what I saw last season, but he’s been playing really well of late and looks to play a key role at corner for the team this year.

Much more even today with maybe a slight edge to Carolina in some periods. But both teams made plays. #Patriots passing game had moments of downfield success, run game still iffy, and thought the pass coverage for Pats was competitive. Strong day for Mills again.

— Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) August 17, 2022

Evan Lazar notes that Carolina probably edged some drills today, but it’s good to hear the passing game managed to get some things going. A positive note for the defense also.
